During the ceremony, the practitioner drinks the nectar. As they consume the water, they imagine that the Five Dhyani Buddhas are bathing them. The individual’s essence transforms. Specifically, their consciousness is purified into Akshobhya Buddha. This Buddha represents the East. Also, the space element is purified into Vajradhatishvari. Name Empowerment and Its Meaning
The guru gives the disciple a name. This name corresponds to a deity. The disciple visualizes that their form aggregate is purified. As a result, it transforms into Vairochana Buddha of the Center. Additionally, the earth element transforms into Locana. The ignorance is purified. This manifests the wisdom of dharmadhatu.
Understanding Vajra Samaya Empowerment
The guru bestows the vajra and bell into the disciple’s hands. These symbolize the union of wisdom and skillful means. Furthermore, the disciple is advised to practice the vajra view. This view emphasizes the inseparability of dharmadhatu and wisdom.
Guru Empowerment for Liberation
This specific empowerment is for individuals. They should have the capacity to liberate beings. After receiving these empowerments, one can quickly achieve the Five Dhyani Buddhas. Therefore, the Five Dhyani Buddhas become inseparable from the five aggregates. This purifies and matures both karmic obscurations and obstacles. It also plants the seed of the Buddha’s nirmanakaya. Although variations exist, most vase empowerments follow this visualization. In the future, even without translation, you can visualize in this manner. Otherwise, it is merely drinking water, making it difficult to obtain real benefits.
The Significance of Secret Empowerment
The secret empowerment usually involves a skullcup filled with nectar. During the empowerment, the nectar fills the throat chakra. Then, it spreads to the heart, navel, and entire body. As a result, the nature of mind is realized. The skullcup contains purified water and dharma medicines, symbolizing realization.
While drinking, visualize realizing emptiness. Additionally, eliminate speech obstacles. Furthermore, receive the seed of the Buddha’s sambhogakaya. This qualifies one to practice the generation stage. The prayer to the ground vajrayana is important here. If one realizes the nature of mind immediately, it is a standard empowerment. If not, it still plants a seed for realization.
Exploring Wisdom Empowerment
The wisdom empowerment utilizes images of dakinis and deities. The father deity represents the luminosity of the tathagatagarbha. On the other hand, the dakini represents prajna emptiness.
During the empowerment, touch the dakini’s image. As a result, visualize the wisdom of realizing prajna emptiness. This will arise quickly in the mind. Through this process, one obtains the wisdom empowerment. The thangka of the mother deity is used. This helps one realize the formless completion stage. This realization is achieved through the practice of emptiness. It eliminates obstacles of the mind. The seed of the Buddha’s dharmakaya is received.
The Highest Form: Word Empowerment
The word empowerment is the highest form of vajrayana empowerments. A natural crystal pillar is often used. The crystal symbolizes the tathagatagarbha. When light shines on it, the crystal shows rainbow-like rays. Similarly, the tathagatagarbha’s luminosity manifests when afflictions are eliminated.
The Samdhinirmochana Sutra and other texts describe this. If one has realized the tathagatagarbha, abide in this state. If not, the crystal is symbolic. It represents a dependent origination. Visualize eliminating obstacles and planting the seed of the Buddha’s svabhavakaya. This will ensure receiving the corresponding empowerment.
Some empowerments include subsidiary practices. These include the Five Dhyani Buddhas and vajra bell. While these are extensive, the four main empowerments are the most critical. It is crucial to listen attentively. Cooperating with the visualizations is also vital. The ganesha empowerment vajrayana may also be included in this process.
